A Neat Little Example of Data Visualization
My friend Jason Saidoo passed along this neat little tool for visually inspecting the contents of your disk drives.

It’s a simple way to see what the heck is using up all that space, and a great way to see the power of data visualization. I’ve seen this done for sales by rep analysis effectively. Imagine each color is a geographic region and each square a sales representative. Couple this with shading so that the darker the color the closer that rep is to making their sales goal. It becomes a very elegant way to know where to focus.
