I think the tricky part of every project is defining what success is and how you define it.
It happens quite too often that Project Success is mistakenly perceived as Project Management Success (On time, on budget, on scope). I have published an article debunking this theory, differentiating between project success and project management success. The article examines 3 well-known projects, that were failures on the Project Management level, and turned out to be successful project and vice versa.
